About
MapIt is a user-friendly tool for collecting and visualizing location data from visitors, helping the Bureau of Tourism enhance data collection and promote regional tourism.
Step 1:
Create a Google Sheet, go to the top-right corner, choose "Share," set permission to "Anyone with the link," and set the access level to "Editor."
Step 2:
Copy the google sheets link, click "Start" in the navigation bar to access MapIt forms, paste the link in the URL box, and click "Submit."
Step 3:
Click the green button to start plotting!
How does it work?
MapIt utilizes Google Sheets as its database with the assistance of Google App Scripts for streamlined management. Upon inputting your Google Sheet's link, the app automatically extracts the sheet's ID and establishes a connection.
The application employs various geolocation APIs to collect location data. When a visitor submits information, it is securely stored in the designated Google Sheet, accessible via direct Google Sheet access.
MapIt offers data retrieval. Enter the link to your Google Sheet, and our app will efficiently re-visualize the information on the map.
Please refrain from manual data editing in Google Sheets to maintain accuracy in information management.
